eBay is advising its customers to change their passwords after hackers used a cyber-attack to gain access to its database.
The latest news is that personal data from 145 million customer accounts was stolen!
Here’s the quick way to change your eBay password
Go to www.ebay.com and sign in to your account.
Click My eBay in the upper right corner.
Click Account and select Personal Information.
Editing your password in the Personal Information section
Enter your registered eBay email or your userd ID and click Continue.
Check your mailbox
eBay will send an email to your registered email address. Login to your inbox and open the email from eBay (subject: eBay Reset Your Password). To reset your password click on the URL contained in the email.
Generate a strong password
Now you can enter your new password: for increased safety, we recommend using a password generator. Click in the New password field and Sticky Password will offer to generate strong password for you.
Click Generate Password.
Set the desired length (we recommend at least 8 characters, but the longer the better) and any additional options you’d like for your new password, click Generate and then click Use this password.
Both password fields will be automatically filled in with your new strong password. Click Submit.
Sticky Password will prompt you to save your new changed password. Click Change password.
That’s it! Your eBay password has been successfully changed.
