Sticky Password supports fingerprint authentication on iOS and Android devices. Now you can unlock your password database on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets that are equipped with a fingerprint scanner. (If you are on iOS, check out Biometrics: Fingerprint Authentication on Your iOS Device.)

In today’s tutorial I will show you how to set up fingerprint protection for your Android device.

Run Sticky Password. Tap the Menu button in the upper right corner and select Settings.

Tap App Protection.

finger2

Slide the slider for Fingerprint protection to the right to activate the feature.

finger3

Enter your Master Password to make changes and tap Unlock.

If there are no registered fingerprints on your Android device, the fingerprint manager on your device will appear to walk you through the steps to register  your authorized fingerprint. In this example, I’m using a Samsung. Tap the  ‘+‘  in the upper right corner.

finger5

Read the information about registering your fingerprint, and tap OK to continue.

finger6

Now swipe your fingertip downwards over the Home key 8 times, as shown below.

Tap Done.

The fingerprint manager on your device will prompt you to create a password that will be used a backup in case there is a problem with your fingerprint.

Create a password to use as an alternative to your fingerprint and click Continue.

finger9

Confirm your password by reentering it, and tap OK.

finger10

The next screen will let you know that your fingerprint has been registered. Tap OK.

Now that your fingerprint has been registered and enabled, it can be used to unlock Sticky Password. Exit the device fingerprint manager by  tapping the back arrow in the upper left corner, and return to Sticky Password.

finger12

Sticky Password is locked. Swipe your fingertip downwards over the Home key to unlock it.
